Dr. Phil Campagna,  PhD.

Dr. Phil Campagna has been a professor with Dalhousie’s School of Health and Human Performance for the past 25 years.  His research interest includes the health benefits of acute and chronic exercise/physical activity programs on strength, power cardiovascular fitness, and psychological well-being.

He was the principal investigator for the PACY project evaluating the physical activity patterns of children and youth in Nova Scotia using accelerometers.

Phil has published papers in the research areas of sport science and fitness.  He has been involved in developing and implementing national fitness and lifestyle certification programs. 

Phil is currently on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Fitness & Lifestyle Institute.  He is past chairperson for the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology National Health and Fitness Program in Canada.

Dr. Campagna has presented the following presentations to a wide variety of population demographics:

Low and moderate intensity physical activity: Selected coronary heart disease risk factors and functional ability in a senior population.
