Becky graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the
University of Manitoba prior to entering the financial services field.
Being a true believer in continuous learning and formal education, Becky
has continued to earn a wide variety of professional/industry
accreditations. In addition, she has an extensive financial background
at senior levels that encompass over 35 years in banking, insurance, and
finance.
Today, Becky is an independent
Certified Financial Planner who works closely with individuals and
businesses to ensure their financial goals are consistently met.
With a passion in knowledge sharing, Becky is also a dynamic
educator with many years of adult instructional experience. She
makes time to teach financial courses and regularly conducts
seminars and workshops on a variety of business and financial
topics. Becky was on the faculty at one of Vancouver's Colleges from
2004 -2020. Her students give her excellent reviews because of her
ability to teach the most complex subjects effectively.
Becky provides professional
advice in the areas of personal tax planning, retirement planning,
investment strategies, personal risk management, and family
philanthropy. She is also a contributing editor for Canadian
MoneySaver Magazine, previous speaker at the Vancouver Financial
Forum and Wealth Management Expo. Becky is also the Technical Editor
for Personal Finance For Canadians For Dummies (5th, 6th, and 7th
Editions)
Becky had previously served as a
Board Member with the Richmond Seniors Advisory Committee (RSAC) by
appointment by Richmond City Council. One of the role of RSAC is to
initiate studies on matters deemed to be of concern to seniors and
submit information, options and recommendations to City Council as
necessary and requested. She has been a Board Member of Advocis in
the role of Professional Development since 2022. At the end of 2024,
Becky has been appointed to FP Canada Institute Faculty as a
volunteer.
